Nanhaizi Park(南海子公园)

Nanhaizi Park was the largest wetland in Beijing. As the royal hunting ground of the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties and the royal courts of the Ming and Qing dynasties, it has been listed as one of the “Ten Scenes of Yanjing”.

Nanhaizi Park is not only one of Beijing’s four largest country parks, but also the largest wetland park. With waves, flowers, and elks, you might feel like being in the wild land and unwilling to return... As Beijing’s largest wetland park, Nanhaizi’s size is equivalent to that of four Summer Palaces. It looks like a “sea” in Beijing, and even takes you 2-3 hours to walk around it.

Walking through the Nanhaizi Park, you can see the extremely endangered (even compared to panda) blue-headed pochard duck, the national second-level protected animal grebe, the white-headed sand duck and other birds flying freely in the sky; you can also see the swan, wild ducks, etc. playing in the clear river waves; you can hear the sly elk screaming in the colourful plants...
